Almost 25 years since its reintroduction as standard issue uni- form apparel by the U.S. Air Force, the iconic A-2 jacket is back courtesy of Cockpit USA. Preceding its reintroduction, Jeff Clyman President of Cockpit USA worked closely with the Air Force Uniform Board at the Pentagon and the Product Devel- opment Group at Wright Patterson Airbase on modern specifi- cations for the new A-2 jacket, adapting the WWII version to cater to current aircrew needs. The jacket boasts a seven pieced hand cut goatskin leather shell, and many of the original fea- tures including a snap down collar with the original hook and eye neck closure, top entry pockets with snap close flaps, knit cuffs and waistband. Intrepid in its past and classic in style, the A-2 jacket is a timeless wardrobe piece of history.
