Women's Sheepskin Jackets
Women’s Sheepskin Jackets
Our Women’s Sheepskin Jackets are inspired by the B-3 Shearling Bombers first issued to the United States Army Air Corps in 1931. The women who flew the aircraft from factories to the airbases were issued the same flying gear and bomber jackets as their male counterparts even though they were not officially part of the army. They were called WASPS as they were part of an arm called Women’s Air Force Service Pilots but flew all of the WWII aircraft that men flew.
The B-3 Sheepskin Bombers were issued during the 1930’s and during World War II as the B-17, B-24, and other combat aircrafts were not well equipped to keep the extreme cold air out. Honoring the bravery of the Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) of WWII, who flew over 60 million miles, the Women’s Sheepskin Jackets represent strength and defiance.
Cockpit USA’s Women’s Sheepskin Jackets are accurate renditions of the historical B-3 Bomber style but tailored specifically for women.
