Item #: Z2107HL Availability: In stock
Awarded over 100 military decorations including the Medal of Honor from the US, this A-2 was made famous by General Douglas MacArthur who wore his custom made horsehide A-2. Manufactured with hard wearing military grade horsehide as originally specified in 1931, the leather shows the same natural creases, folds and graining details as those worn in the Army
Air Corps of 1931 to 1939 and the WWII Army Air Forces. Our long sizes are approximately 2 inches longer in the sleeves and body than our regular sizes. Not sure which size to get? Send us your measurements here and we will suggest the best fit for you.

• 100% horsehide leather
• Cotton blend russet lining
• Snap down collar
• Underarm ventilation grommets
• Brass front zipper under wind flap
• Two front flap snap pockets
• Knit cuffs and waistband
• This is a long regular fit jacket
• Available in brown or mahogany
• Proudly made in the USA.

I absolutely love my WWII Government Issue A-2! Review by Andreas
I have several A-2s from before from several manufacturers. Depending on the manufacturer they range in size from 42 Tall to 48 Tall, stopping at many sizes in between. As the A-2 type has been around since 1931 and in different patterns, and people now tend to be larger than during WWII, anyone knowing something about A-2s is that finding the right size can be quite a hassle. In addition, I have a pretty long torso, which complicates things somewhat for me.

I already have several Cockpit USA U.S.A.F. 21st Century A-2 jackets, but as the pattern on those differs from the WWII Government Issue A-2 jacket I was worried about the sizing. However, Shanice Brown at Cockpit USA took her time (she was very patient I must say) to ensure that I ended up with the correct size. At the end it turned out to be a 44 Long which is quite like the U.S.A.F 21st Century A-2 44 Regular (I am 6 feet 4.5 inches, 209 pounds, longer than average torso).

I absolutely love my WWII Government Issue A-2!

While I am very happy with all my other A-2s, this is one will probably be one of my absolute favourites!

The jacket fits perfect! The seams are flawless, and quality of the cowhide leather is top of the line! The mahogany colour is beautiful. It is a very robust jacket. The feel wearing it is super!

Considering it all, the ratio of quality versus price is, as for all my Cockpit USA A-2 jackets, absolutely at the top level!

Awesome Jacket! Review by Kory
Having been a WWII Re-enactor/Living Historian for many years and a tailwheel pilot aspiring to become a Warbird pilot I've always loved the A2 Jacket. Cockpit USA has the best American-Made A2 on the market for quality and historical accuracy. I love my WWII Government Issue A2 very much. The fit was perfect for a big and tall guy like me (6'2" 220lbs so I bought the 48L) thanks to their great customer service and answering my sizing questions. Thanks again for another great jacket. I would recommend it to anyone. (Posted on 10/30/2019)
'Love my A-2 Review by Bob
My 20+ year old Avirex A-2 had a pretty torn up lining. Cockpit USA repaired it to like new condition by replacing the lining. But they also replaced the knit cuffs and waist band. It's better than new.

My only complaint is that I was in the Naval Air Force, not the Regular Air Force. We were issued G-2s, with the fuzzy collars. I bought this A-2 with the leather collar years ago because I remembered how crummy the fuzzy collar became on my government-issued G-2 back in the early-1960s.

I made the right decision: After having the jacket repaired it is better than new. (Posted on 3/27/2018)
