Supple and warm Review by Joe
Quality Value I'm 5'8", 173, need to lose a few pounds, but size 40 fits perfect. Snug enough to be warm but not constricting [I mainly wear 40S sport coats, 15.5/32-33 dress shirts], looks and fits great with a T-shirt or henley, or a shirt & tie if done properly.
Had tried various other shearling bombers and flight coats (Todd Snyder & Golden Bear too tight; Orvis too big)--this has great military feel; the slightly worn Army Air Force insignia is a great touch.
The thickness of the shearling is more than envisioned & depicted on the Cockpit site--if google it or go to a seller of Cockpit products (eg. LegendaryUSA) there are additional pictures that 1.) better highlight the thickness/shear length, and 2.) are more accurate in color [it's more reddish brown than light-brown].
Not to imply either is a bad thing--the color is beautiful, and the thickness is appreciated...almost feels more like what the B3 looks like in terms of thickness.
It's extremely warm; helpful in this polar vortex with -30 temps here in the midwest.
I look forward to wearing this coat for decades. (Posted on 1/31/2019) -
Great Jacket ! Review by Joe
Quality Value Love this jacket. Looks great and is very well made. It is a bit more of a reddish brown than the photos on the website . A clearer depiction of the color can be seen on the company’s Facebook page, it’s great. This is a perfect multi season jacket that I highly recommend. Also management is very responsive and will not rest until all your questions are answered and you are completely satisfied with your purchase (Posted on 4/7/2018)

Living HIstory Review by Bryce
Quality Value I have purchased a few different jackets from Cockpit over the years. Their attention to detail is above and beyond most. The quality of materials and stitching is just amazing.
Often times I have found bomber jackets, especially shearlings to be a bit bulky. This jacket is trim in a good way. The leather is perfect and soft. It fits and moves nicely when wearing.
You can tell the design team paid careful attention with holding true to the original B-6. The insignia on the left shoulder is faint enough to not draw too much attention, but just enough to capture the history just right.
This jacket looks great with dress clothes and when just throwing on some jeans and a tee. It will keep you worm on those cold windy days.
I am 5 ft 11 inches and about 175 lbs and the 42 fits great. The good kind of snug!
If you want to wear thicker garments like sweaters I would go a size up. The staff at Cockpit are very helpful in determining size and are good at getting back to your questions. (Posted on 3/13/2017) -
Amazingly Comfortable Review by David
Quality Value I have been in the Navy for 24 years, 12 years active duty and 12 reserves. I had a Navy G-1 issued to me probably 15 years ago, and I never thought another flight jacket could replace it. I read a couple of reviews about the products on Cockpit USA, and decided to give it a try. I wanted flight jacket I could wear with both my uniform and civilian clothes. I talked to someone at Cockpit USA after calling the number on the website; I was worried about the sleeves being too long. I am a 42 short. I don’t know the name of the guy I spoke to, but he was helpful and straight up with me, which I appreciate. He sold me on the B-6 after answering all my questions. I got the B-6 quickly, and I hate to say it, but I like it more than my Navy issued G-1. It is so comfortable, I can’t wait for cold weather just to wear it. Now… I am going to put my Navy patches over the Air Force decals...maybe below to honor my grand dad, but I got an old school name tape I am having put on soon. I’ll send you guys pics if you care to see when complete, and I attempt to wear on base in uniform! Thank you so much for the quick and easy delivery. Being an E-6 your jackets are a little pricey for me, but well worth saving up for. I know I will again make a purchase from you guys. LOVE your site, and hope to one day come into the store. THANKS!!!
