A-2 Flight Jackets
A-2 Flight and Bomber Jackets
The A-2 flight jacket, also called the A-2 bomber jacket, first came to prominence during World War II, when it was issued first to Army Air Corps Personnel following the completion of basic flight training. These jackets would rightfully become prized possessions among pilots, who valued them as much as they did their wings. As they progressed in their careers as Airmen, adornments would be added to their jackets, including squadron patches, Air Force emblems, and even elaborate artwork on the back that would sometimes match the nose art of their aircraft.
Cockpit USA gave new life to the A-2 flight jacket in the mid 1970’s by replicating it ultimately having it to become a status symbol among civilians, too.
