Cockpit USA is proud to offer our Limited Edition hand painted 40th Anniversary Lakanooki A-2 Jacket. A replica of the A-2 jacket worn by the courageous pilot of the Consolidated B-24 Liberator "Lakanooki". The stylized lettering has been carefully painted to resemble the actual Nose Art found on the heavy bomber. The appliqué embroidered patches are of the 374th Bombardment Squadron, which was assigned to the 308th Bombardment Group, in the 14th Air Force during World War II. Our hand painted leather appliquéd Blood Chit replicates the I.D. flag worn by our pilots for rescue and protection. Additionally, the hand painted leather appliqué C.B.I ,14th AF and "Grumpy" patches have been expertly crafted to achieve the vintage aged appearance, adding to the overall authentic feel of the jacket. The horsehide leather we use for this jacket has been expertly finished to allow your garment to develop a patina, yielding an aged and vintage appearance. These natural shadings and characteristics are by design and a normal process exclusive to Cockpit USA. Not sure which size to get?
