  1. PROBABLY BEST B-15 REPLICA BUT NOT FOR UNDER 50 DEGREES Review by johnnyjohnny

i love this, but sadly i purchased to replace a chinese made b-15 that was coming apart, but was a lot warmer.

that is NOT a knock on this jacket at all. the other b-15, made by a famous company that actually does some u.s. military contracting, nonetheless has their non-issue jackets made in china, and mine started losing buttons and the collar after a few wears. the b-15 is now considered civilian or replica because it is no longer military issue.

that said, the current b-15s, like the one i mention, have been modernized with a bit more puffy padding, and do make you look like mighty mouse with big arms and such.

so i cannot complain when i got this and it has only a modest amount of padding, much closer to the WW2 and korea originals. and that is what this is, a replica...which in that regard is quite amazing. i do love it.

as for a 40 degree weather jacket? this will not cut it without some serious layering. but on the good side, i live in so california where it's usually warm, and will thus be able to wear this in all but summer weather.

so not a bad tradeoff. and, being u.s. made i am sure this will not unravel and start to look floppy for a long time to come. am very happy to support u.s. manufacturing, and especially with such an authentic and beautifully built jacket.

i will note that i am 6ft, about a 45" chest and 34" waist, and opted for the 2XL. i called cockpit and while not telling me not to, they did suggest the XL. this is a bit more 'true fit' than the other modern b-15 and textile jackets, like the one falling apart on me from another maker, but i still felt the extra size was a good choice. if you want a tight fitting look, probably akin to what was actually worn by our pilots, than you might get your normal size. but i'm happy with not only my sizing choice, but this jacket...i love this company and their products! This Is a lovely jacket it's is of a great quality, it is lovely and warm and looks great on! If they sold these in the U.K. I would buy many more but due to tax for importing it makes it impossible. Shame they don't have a stockist in the uk as I would buy many of there jackets and probably get a couple more of these because I love it. (Posted on 9/20/2016)

There is a picture of my uncle in 1944 in front of his B-17 wearing one of these. When I showed mine to my Mom, his sister, she almost jumped out of her chair. She was amazed at it's authenticity and appearance. It looks cool, but it wears even cooler. I guarantee that you will get lots of admiring accolades in this jacket. Again, as with any of this line, you convey confidence and conviction of purpose, not to mention that you will look very cool. (Posted on 10/17/2013)
