Our Aces and Eights Tee is an exact reproduction of the back art on our hand painted 527th Bomb Squadron A-2 jacket. The stylized lettering replicates the original Nose Art found on the B-17 Flying Fortress of the 527th, part of the 379th Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force. Historically, the assortment of playing cards is commonly referred to as the "Dead Man's Hand". Gaining it’s notoriety as, reportedly, the final hand of American folk hero, lawman and gunfighter "Wild Bill" Hickok, who was shot while gambling in a saloon. This apparently was the hand the 527th BS dealt to enemy forces while flying combat missions, making it's contribution to the Allied Forces efforts to finally end World War II. Wear a Graphic T-shirt that tells a story you can share and join Cockpit USA as we honor the men of the 527th BS.
