Z26A006C: M-43 Omaha Beach Field Jacket

The M-43 Field Jacket was the WW II GI's second skin.It hit the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944 when the ALLIED American Armies invaded NAZI occupied France and it saw combat right up until the end of WWII in August of 1945.Worn by Airborne and Infantry alike, it saw the occupation of post World War 2 Europe, as well as combat in the hills of Korea during the 1950's and was only phased out in that decade.Truly a classic in its time. The M-43 was a response to the fighting man's need for a field coat that afforded good fit, adequate warmth, and optional issue items like an integral hood and liner system. Most of the time it was worn without these accessories and is presented here in its simplest form, without these accesories . It had 4 copious outside patch bellowed storage pockets in one garment replacing earlier models of general issue clothing which had none of these features. Our reproduction of this garment is faithful to the original made of high count 1940's style 100% dense cotton poplin in a somewhat slimmer fit reminiscent of the 1940's.We have added the experimental (never field adopted) bi-swing gusset behind the arm for free and easy movement. The jacket features our trademark broken in look and closely
replicates the original. Some of the surprise lies on the inside where we have
included inside pockets and the typical soft cotton Mil. Spec labeling.

Z21821: Wool Lined WWII American Tanker Jacket

During WWII, a new, practical jacket was designed for the American armored vehicle crewmen and Army tank crews in Europe. M-4 Sherman tank crews were actually trading these jackets for Airmen’s leather A-2 jackets. Surprisingly it became popular with Air Force pilots as well as airborne paratroopers because it was lightweight but offered three season warmth due to the wool blanket lining. Details include 100% cotton outer shell and bi-swing back and shoulder pleats, two front hand warmer slash pockets, front brass zipper and knit collar, cuff and waistband. An authentic replica of the real thing for those who demand the finest. Proudly made in the U.S.A.
